30 Weeks

The girls are making such big baby steps every day. These two little girls are so strong. The nurses and docs make comments about how tough and resilient they are.

Abby is still doing well on her CPAP. She is up to 17 mL on her feedings, and I can't believe it, but she has finally reached 2 lbs. Woohoo!! The nurses like to keep the girls snuggled in tight to mimic them in utero, but Abby seems to like being stretchd out. Today she was wiggling around all over the place.

Emma was moved from her CPAP to the nasal cannula again. She is doing much better this time around. They have also started giving her on Pedialyte (1 cc) every 4 hours. When we called up there tonight, she had no residual, and her drains didn't have much coming out. We are so hopeful that she will be able to tolerate these feeds, so we can start her on milk soon. If she can tolerate the feeds, this will be a sign that her perforation has healed. Fingers crossed!!

I am so happy for all of you...what good news you have today..I am confident it will be uphill from now on...but I will still be praying (and having our Catholic group too) for all of you. Before you know it, those little pink cheeks will be round and oh...so cute! I hope you will get to hold both of the girls for a few more hours in the next day or two. Let me know which one is the first to 'wet' on either of you!! Then you will feel like a REAL parent....Ha! Fondly, Vonnie
