Emma in a trance.
Abby during tummy time.
Aren't they sweet?!?!
The smallest patches are still so big that we have to cut them.
Abby looks like she's ready for bed.Well, I've finally managed to find time to sit down and type. I'm sure it won't last long since the girls are due to eat, and I'm sure will be waking soon. We started them on cereal about 2 weeks ago. Abby, who never has liked eating, isn't a fan, but Miss Emma will eat whatever we give her. It's a bit of a messy process, but I'm hoping that they will get the hang of eating most of it instead of wearing it. Both girls are sleeping through the night, but Emma isn't quite consistent yet. I'm sure once she puts a little more weight on she'll be sleeping through.
Emma is doing amazingly well with the patch. She does tend to get tired of it after its been on for about 3 hours, but for the most part she leaves it alone. When we take it off, she acts as if she's seeing the world in a whole new light. I'm sure she is since her good eye is the one that we cover up. Last time she weighed in at the doctor's office she was 9 lbs. 12 oz, so I am assuming that she is 10 lbs now. She is trying hard to sit up, but still needs quite a bit of assistance. The occupational therapist said it was so odd to see a baby Emma's size attempting to sit up. She is very vocal and loves to hear herself.
Abby is finally taking a bottle with little resistance. Feeding her has been such a frustrating process up to this point. The last weight we have on her is 11 lbs. 6 oz, but with the way she's been eating, I'm sure she is well over 12 lbs. now. Abby has learned to make raspberries thanks to Audrey. She loves it. I walked in this morning to get her, and she was laying in her crib making raspberries. It's really funny! Abby is still our laid back child and has to be made to work on rolling over and sitting up, but she is getting the hang of it. A little more work, and I'm sure she will have it.

Wow - what miracles your daughters are!!
Megan
Merry Christmas to you four! May God bless you in this coming new year as you continue your journey with these two precious live dolls. They are really growing. Thanks for the update and the pictures.
Too cute! Thanks for the update, sounds like they are growing well! I hope that we'll be able to visit sometime towards the beginning of the year. Maybe in Kearney for a birthday in February of Overland Park for some birthdays in March!
They are just so adorable! How funny that Abby is bigger but hates eating, and Emma eats everything but is so tiny! And I love the NICU tshirts, too. Thanks for the update.
Merry Christmas!!!
You have been blessed with two beautiful daughters.
Love,
Claudia
The girls are amazing! I know this is going to be a wonderful Christmas for you guys. I keep them in my thoughts and prayers. God is so good!
They are just getting so big and so beautiful!!! After all that you have been through, truly take a moment and enjoy every breath you take with them!! Hugs from Houston, my friend!
I really enjoyed the last post with the updated pictures. The girls are really growing fast. I know they are identical but I think there is just enough difference to tell them apart..like their aunts, Rosie and Rita! What fun they must be getting to be. I sure hope that Emma won't have to wear the patch for long but if it helps, it will be worth it. My sister told me that Grandpa Bill was showing pictures all weekend while he was in Pontiac..I can imagine how proud he is of the girls AND their parents. It has been a long road for both of you and it will be for sometime but in the end, it will be so worth it..I can imagine that you are already experiencing the feeling when they do something new.
Keep up the good work. Fondly, Vonnie.
