Look Whoo's Turning 2

Last weekend we traveled back home to celebrate the girls' 2nd birthday ( a little early) with family. I went with an owl theme. I've had an affection for owls this year. We attempted owl cake pops. I really should have attempted a trial run before making these for the party. They weren't the easiest things to make, but I'm confident that with a little more practice I can master them. The girls had so much fun being outdoors and having so many kids to play with all week. It kind of made me sad to have to return home to 40 degree weather again.

The twins received so many wonderful gifts. At the bottom are some pictures of them on their new tricycles. I wish I had a picture of the table that my mom is painting for the girls, but for some reason I forgot to get a picture of it before we left. She wasn't quite finished with it, so when it's completed I'll make sure to post a picture of it. She is a talented artist. I'll post some more pictures of presents after their actual birthday. Thanks to all the family who made the day so special.

This owl was my first time working with fondant. I need to take a class, but for a first attempt I think it turned out pretty well.

The cake pops that almost did us in. After a few owls we decided to just make round cake pops.
This was one of the party favors. We made what I would call a smore's mix.

Abby and Emma enjoying a cake pop with daddy's assistance.
Grandma Nice had these 2 shirts made for the girls. They're pretty cute.
Blowing out the candles.
Emma was really into blowing the candles out.
Hooray!!!
