Throw the book away

We had a scare last night with one of the twins. Jana had a small amount of bleeding which we thought was probably just some of the placenta leaving her body from the night before. Another hour later, there was more bleeding and the doctor was called in to do an exam.

Unfortunately, one of the twins had moved into the cervix and Jana was again dialated to 10. The doctor could see the amniotic sac and the baby's head and a little arm sticking through the cervix. Luckily, Jana's water hadn't broken and we told her a little jokingly, why don't you just push her back in her home where she's suppossed to be. Well that is exactly what she did.

It was very painful for Jana, but it worked. They did an ultrasound and our little girl had moved back into the uterus. Jana's cervix went back to a 2. Jana is now in a decline position, literally trying to use gravity to keep pressure off of her cervix and keep the babies in. With all the technology of this world, it seems that the ol' push em back in and put her feet above her head is what we are left to.

The doctors told us that they would give Jana a steriod shot at midnight tonight to try to get the mRNA receptors moving to help the babies develop a little quicker in terms of lungs, brain, intestines, etc. So hopefully we can get to midnight tonight. If we can get to midnight the next night, they will give her another dose.

We are continuing to keep the faith and we pray constantly.

Jana, I thought of you and your coaching days at CJHS this morning. A high school senior came over this morning and gave a presentation to the 6th grade girls about loving yourself, body image and proper diet. This is a student you coached, who struggled with unhealthy eating habits. I want to thank you for your determination in helping this young lady. Your daughters have an awesome mom who will rise up and meet any challenge. I am so thankful you are a committed and determined woman. Always in my prayers! Be patient little ones.

I've started this post over 3 times trying to come up with just the right thing to say. It all boils down to that we love all 5 of you very much and we wish we could be there. Our hearts go out to you and Reagan Mary and those little girls. Jana, you are an amazing mother and we are in awe over your strengh and courage in this struggle. Pat, we are so proud of you and your love for your family. Know that we are here for you in any capacity whenever you need us. Until then, you have our love and prayers.

Pat,

As I read your posts, I can feel your tremendous faith in the Lord and it brings a smile to my face. You and Jana were meant to be together!

Jana,

As I have been praying for you, Pat and the babies, I realized how blessed my life is by knowing you. I know the Lord brought the both of you to Childress for a reason. The friendship that developed between you and I is very special to me. I was so excited when you and Pat found one another because I knew you had found your soul mates. When I said my goodbyes to you when you left Childress, it was so hard for me to do. I missed you (and still do!) so much! However, my happiness for the two of you exceeded my own sadness!

I am thankful for the Lord bringing you into my life. You are an amazing woman and a testament to the Lord's wonderful grace. Your strength is inspiring, your friendship is genuine and your heart is filled with such love. These are the qualities you will pass on to your sweet little girls.

You are in my thoughts daily. I love ya!

Jana --
Words cannot say enough for what I am feeling for all of you at this trying time in your lives. My heart goes out to everyone for the loss of Reagan and my prayers go out to you all. Although we have just found each other again, I know what a wonderful person you are and although I have never met Pat, reading his words on this blog every night I know that you are both lucky to have found each other and it is your strength as well as the wonderful family you have that will help you through all of this. Be patient, relax as much as possible, and I will pray every day that God will help you through this.
