4 Weeks Old!!

It's hard to imagine that today the girls are 4 weeks old. Wow!!!

Last night they told us that the pediatric surgeon, who would be evaluating Emma, would be there sometime today. Not knowing what time that was, I headed to the hospital early this morning. The doctor showed up around 5pm, and after waiting all day for him, I some how I missed him. I did find out through the neonatologist that he confirmed it looked like an abscess. They will continue to keep Emma on Flagyl to help fight this infection. They will x-ray her belly everyday to make sure that the abscess isn't getting any bigger. The docs will reevaluate her on Wednesday to see if she is making any process. Other than that Emma has had a pretty good day. Yea!!

As for Abby she has an air leak around her ET tube. For now they don't seem to be too concerned with it because her oxygen levels have been pretty steady today. Because of the leak, there are bells going off all the time in her room. I'm not sure how she gets any rest. Abby did start something new today. For a little bit today she would thrust her little bottom into the air and back down. She looked like she was trying to stand on her tip toes. Too cute!! They have increased her calories to 26 at each feeding which will help her put on weight.
