Just a quick post to update you all. Emma went to surgery about 2:00 today. The doctor found two holes in her small intestine. He can only repair one at a time, so he fixed one, and for the time being she will have an ostomy. Once he believes that the other repair is healed, he will go back in to repair the other one. We aren't sure how long that will be. Weeks, months they can't tell us. It will be all up to her little body to let us know. I'm sure the scientist in the family will update later with more specifics.
I can't even begin to express how proud of Emma we are. She is such a strong little girl, and she is forced to prove that all too often. I'm spending the night up here with her for my own peace of mind. It's our first slumber party of sorts. Please continue the prayers for our sweet little ones. They still have a long road to travel in this journey.
Just stop...

I'm so thankful surgery went well. Your little ones are so strong, a trait they inherited from their parents.
You continue to be in our prayers. And happy father's day to you, Pat.
Thanks for the update. Continued prayers for those precious little ones and for their parents.
Jenna, Pat, Abby and Emma,
We are so happy to hear that the surgery went well. With the little ones' fighting spirit, God has to have a plan in place for them. You continue in our thoughts and prayers--all of you--it has to be a stressed situation for Mommy and Daddy.
The pics that Traci brought back are so precious--especially the one with Momma holding them together. Glad that could be made to happen.
Hang in there guys.

It was so good to read about Emma..but am so sorry that both couldn't be done at one time. It just seems that nothing is coming easy for any of you...but OH the celebrations and happiness when everything is healed and all are healthy..and that day WILL come. Oh my goodness, it has just begun...slumber parties! I'm sure you will have many thru the years..it starts with 'stay overs' (that's the small ones!) and before long, it will seem like every girl in school will be invited...and will come! Even when Kathleen was in college, there were many..and Lloyd always knew that he would be fixing the "hang over breakfast of biscuits and gravy"..so start practicing your skills, Pat,cause that will happen too before you know it! In the meantime, we're praying hard! Fondly, Vonni
Pat and Jana,
We are so happy to hear that Emma came through so well. Your little family is in our prayers.
