Just a quick up date. ........It's almost unbelievable to us that Emma is already pooping, but then again we are talking about Emma. She seems to leave us with our jaws dropped quite often. She had surgery on Friday and was moving things through her bowel on Sunday morning. When I saw the Neo yesterday, she was so amazed that Emma was already moving stuff through so quickly. We are hopeful that they will start feeds on Wednesday, but they may give her a couple extra days. They weighed her last night, and she was 5 lbs. I don't think this is a true weight since she has an IV in. That usually accounts for an ounce or so.
Abby had her follow up with the Neurologist yesterday. Other than Pat and I being tired of the long wait to be seen, the appointment went great. Her ventricles appear to be smaller since her MRI. That's great news. The nurse was amazed with Abby. She said they had had lots of tiny babies in that morning, and she was just so alert compared to the others. She also thought that while she was small for her age, she didn't think Abby looked like a preemie. They weighed her, and she was 7 lbs. 11.5 oz. but that was with her clothes on. At the pediatrician's office we weigh her naked so I think he is probably 7 lbs 9 or 10 oz. She's growing.
Just stop...

Oh what great news...about both of the girls..you know I'll be it won't be long until neither one of the girls will look like premies and if they do, what difference...as long as they are healthy. Great "things" come in small packages! I'm so happy for you all. Fondly, Vonnie
