Deanna Rose Farmstead

Recently we took the girls to the Deanna Rose Farmstead. The Farmstead is a very unique place located within Overland Park, and is named after the first OP police officer killed in the line ofduty. It was designed to depict a turn-of-the-century family farm. The Farmstead has quite a number of animals and birds of prey, vegetable and flower gardens, a one-room country school house , an old-time fishing pond , horse drawn wagon rides, and more.

Some of the activities they offer are bottle feeding baby goats, riding mini tractors, and panning for gold at the mining camp. They even have an Indian encampment where children can get an up close look at how Native Americans once lived.
