Since I am able to sit up right once again, I wanted to express my gratitude to all of the wonderful people who have continued to think and care about us as we have traveled along this ever winding road. It has meant so much to me to hear that we have been lifted up in prayer continuously. One of the highlights of my day was to listen to Pat read all the comments that everyone sent. I honestly can't express how inspiring, supportive, and motivating it was to have friends, family members, and people we didn't even know take time out to care about our situation. You all have been such a blessing through this trying time.
Pat.....My Rock and Strength! You are the most amazing man I have ever known. Reading the words that you have written about me and our little girls is the most wonderful gift you have ever given to me. To feel every ounce of love you have for us is truly amazing. Your strength and constant reassurance are what helped me get through every minute of every day. These precious little girls are so lucky to have you as a daddy, and I am so fortunate to call you my husband, the love of my life. I wish I could write my words as eloquently as you, but I know you feel my love in the way I look at you and touch you. You are my everything and you make my life such a wonderful place. I love you so very much!!
Abilgail and Emma are doing good and are stable. The neonatologist said that they will probably receive anywhere from 4 to 5 blood transfusions because they are so small to help them fight off infections and keep their little platelets mature and healthy. Emma received a platlets last night because they were low. There are two nurses per baby and their vitals and blood work are continously monitored every minute of every day. The neonatologist told us that their skin will thicken up in 7 days so we are awaiting that milestone.
A quick word of need. A lot of people ask us how they could help. For preemies, only about 20% of the population can donate blood for them because of a white platelet disease called CVM? that adults cary around with them, but it manifests itself in colds etc. For the little ones it can be lethal. We'll work on getting more information. Pat can hopefully donate blood for the twins.

What an amazing upate. You and your family are still (continually) in my thoughts and prayers. I know that this will be a long road and I thinking of you constantly. You give me hope...You and your husband seem to be amazing and I know you will go on to raise two precious babies. God Bless!!!
I find myself coming to your blog 100 times a day to see if there are updates. I'm so glad the girls are doing good right now! I know they have a long road to go, but I am confident they have the heart and strength their parents do will grow stronger each and every single day.
I'll be watching for updates about donating blood and if I fit in that 20% of the population, I will be more than honored to help those sweet little girls out!
Love ya!
Dear Pat and Jana,
Congradulations on the birth of your daughters. The names are beautiful. I love them. I am so glad that you are doing well, Jana. Is there anyway that we can donate here in Illinois, for the girls? I am O+. I would love to be of service to you. God bless you and keep you. May God make his face to shine on the girls. May he look upon you with favor and give you peace.
Love,
Mike, Karla, and the boys

Congratulations on the birth of Emma and Abigail. It is great news to hear that they both are stable. Also, it is nice to know that you are able to sit up now.
Imagine---it is spring 2010--- in the park there is a mommy and daddy
pushing a stroller with two beautiful little girls giggling in the sunshine.
You are all constantly in my prayers.
We have been keeping up with you and praying for you daily. April and Bill keep us posted. We did in vitro for our son-who is now 6 and remember the significance of each step and each day! I can remember praying daily then, and praying for him numerous times each day! I was closer to the Lord at that time than I had ever been, and developed many relationships that are still with me today. I felt surrounded by caring and peace. I know your days are long and decisions hard. One day at a time. What great parents you are -already. Nothing compares to the greatness of our Lord. We would love to support you with any need! Jana and Pat-
What a beautiful post...Jana you are every bit as eloquent as your husband (who, is pretty darn eloquent). I am so happy that you are now upright and to hear that the girls are stable. You have been given an amazing gift, not just in your beautiful girls, but in your love for each other and your faith in God. Stay strong. You are truly blessed...may you continue to be.

Jana - I'm so glad to hear from you! My prayers are constantly with you and your family (as are a lot of peoples)! We went through several rounds of blood transfusions with our girls as well and it is hard to find those without CMV in their blood. We tried to do blood drives, but the blood donation center got really overwhelmed with the number of people showing up...so my suggestion to you is to do it in waves (as you know, the girls will be in the NICU a while and they will need transfusions over several weeks/months). I would first start with family members, then expand your list of blood donors...don't do like we did and make a call for everyone because the blood is only good for about 10 days...2 weeks after we made the call for blood donors, we needed more. Just a little tip in case they haven't told you that yet :). Please let us know your babies blood type and I'll see if any of my CMV negative donors are the same and they can donate for your little angels. Love always!

Praise the Lord!! That is what I say each time I read your blog. I too would be more than happy to donate blood if I am a match. Have a great and blessed day!
Just wanted to leave a comment to say I am praying for you and your babies. Our Sunday school class prayed for y'all yesterday and today I found your blog through Ginger! I am so glad to be able to check in on your little family throughout the day!
God bless and just know prayers are flowing out of Childress!
Good morning! Just on one of my many daily checkups of the blog! I would love to be there with you guys to pray with you, so since I cannot, I am going to say a prayer here for all of you now.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today asking you to put your healing hands over Jana, Pat, Emma and Abigail. Lord, I ask you to nurture this family and continue to give them strength. I pray that Emma and Abigail will grow stronger with every new morning sun. May Jana and Pat continue to be a testament of what character, honor, faith, love and strength is and may they feel the many prayers that are said on their behalf. Lord I thank you for each and every person praying for this sweet family. May as many blessings come down as prayers are going up. In Your name I pray. Amen
Love you guys!
Pat, Jana, Abigail, and Emma you are amazing. You are in our thoughts, hearts and prayers.
love,
Jena and Emery
