Few Facts

As our walk for the March of Dimes gets a little closer, I thought I would give everyone a few facts about how your donations help. For every $200 collected,
  • 7 nurses receive training on newborn preemie care
  • 20 Bereavement kits for local mothers who have lost a child are put together
  • 20 Parent Care Kits are prepared for families of babies placed in the NICU
  • 100 Healthy Baby kits are prepared for first time moms in low-income areas
  • A baby lives for one more day on a ventilator
When Reagan passed away we were given one of the bereavement kits. I still can't bring myself to look in it, but the two things I remember being placed in the kit are a sweet yellow blanket that they wrapped her in while we held her and a cast of her tiny little hand and foot prints. While I cannot find the strength to look inside the box again, I find comfort in knowing that we have her thing with us.

Through this past year we have had the privilege of meeting others who have walked the NICU journey. That's why this year we walk in memory of our Reagan and Parker Stockhorst. The honorees this year walking with us will be Emma, Abigail, Jude Arens, and Cooper Stockhorst. Most of you should remember Jude and his parents from some of the messages we posted while we were all experiencing the NICU.

Please remember that there is no donation to small. If we received $5 from everyone who reads are blog, that would add up to an enormous amount. Every amount is significant. To all of you who have donated to our cause or are going to walk with us, I thank you from the deepest part of my heart. Your donation makes a difference to so many.
